Description

The PetSafe Current Pet Fountain is an affordable way to provide your pet with a constant source of fresh, filtered water. The low-voltage submersible pump constantly circulates the water through the bowl and filter, keeping the water fresh and appealing to pets. The activated carbon, coconut shell filter helps absorb molecules out of your tap water that can contribute to poor taste and smells. The durable plastic design comes apart for easy cleaning and is top-shelf dishwasher safe. This fountain ensures your pets have access to fresh water even when you're away. I wish I had seen all the reviews before I purchased this mess. The motor stopped working after a few months. The plastic looks worn and used. When the water gets low it makes a horrible sound that woke the entire house up and had us grabbing weapons because we thought something was breaking into the house (think Jurassic Park). It's a complete waste of money. Do not buy.I’ve had this bowl for almost four years and have never had a problem with it. I replace the filter about every two months, and I deep clean the pump about every four months. The motor will get noisy when it’s time to clean it out, and when disassembling you can find some hair/saliva buildup in the form of slime that’s just absolutely lovely to clean off. It’s starting to get some calcium/mineral deposits on the inside, which is to be expected with a bowl that’s had water in it for 30,000+ hours. I’ll definitely replace this bowl with the exact same model. My cat loves her fresh running water, and I love the relative low-maintenance.Great for keeping our dogs hydrated in hot weather.I previously had a Pioneer Pet Big Max 128oz stainless steel fountain for our cat and medium-size dog. We ended up leaving it behind when we moved, so I was in the market for a new fountain.I originally thought stainless steel would be superior to plastic for a pet fountain, but discovered the fountain bubbler was recirculating water full of dog slobber, which left very difficult-to-remove deposits on the stainless steel. This fountain seems to be much better in terms of cleanliness and ease-of-use. The filter is just a square that slides in under the cover, so it's very easy to swap out (unlike the Pioneer Pet bowl, which used an annoying plastic enclosure for both the filter and the pump). The pump is the best design I've ever seen in a small water pump - it can be completely disassembled for cleaning out pet hair, including removing the spinning propeller and magnet.Cleaning is super easy - just dumping out the water when it gets low deals with the dog slobber, so the cat is kept happy with nice, fresh water. The cutout sides are brilliant - it's easy to move the bowl from the floor to the sink for cleaning and refilling, and easy to put back on the floor without making a mess. It's not super quiet. I believe our old Pioneer Pet fountain may have been a bit quieter, but it was also in the kitchen with the constant hum of the fridge. This bowl is in a small bathroom, which probably amplifies the sound a bit. That said, it's nothing obnoxious or impossible to ignore. This is definitely an A+ purchase for our household. Was a bit noisier than I expected which was a problem as I was putting it in my bedroom. The noise turned the cat off it too. Originally bought because it looked easy to clean and said whisper quiet. It would be an acceptable noise level if not in a bedroom. Very easy to clean. His face can fit in itI purchased this because my cat was always pawing at his water bowl, flipping it over or flinging water everywhere and I didn't want to have to clean water off the floor multiple times per day. I read that some cats paw the bowl because they don't like the stillness of regular water bowls so I bought this hoping it would work for him and it did. I was a bit nervous when I first plugged it in because I thought it'd be more of a real fountain and it's really just a soft ripple, basically a current, but he took to it pretty much instantly. I have it in my kitchen and I barely notice the motor at all, and never notice it when when I'm actually doing things in the kitchen. I suppose the noise could scare some really shy dogs or cats, but it doesn't bother my cat at all. I thought the sides were a bit high for a cat, but even sitting at the bowl he can still drink from it just fine, so no real worries there either. It's easy to clean and pretty easy to put back together. I wish I could find the filters locally, but I just order them off Amazon or Chewy.Highly recommendIt's louder than other pet fountains, but functions well and holds a lot of water. Works well for flat-faced dogs like our pugs. Our cat seems likes it too.Pros:*Large, holds a lot of water*Easy to clean and fill. Simple design, not a lot of parts to disassemble.*Filters are cheap.*No falling water, so no splash from the fountain.*Pets like it.Cons:*Loud. Not extremely, but louder than other fountains we have had in the past.*Filtering is questionable. Doesn't seem to filter well, especially items floating on the surface.*Made from lightweight plastic. Feels kind of thin and flimsy.TIP: If the fountain to too loud, place a rubber mat under it to absorb the vibration and lessen the noise.I have had this fountain for 1 month. This product is very quiet. Every once and a while it will generate a little noise, but I give it a light tap on the round plastic part on the top of the unit and it settles back to being quiet. I think that something must loosen up in the mechanism from the vibration and a little tap will settle it down. I also have found that if you put a mat or something soft under the unit, it runs much quieter than when it is placed directly on a hard surface (I just used a placemat) One of my cats will drink from it, while the other cat will not, so it strictly depends on your pet. I would purchase it again.Holds a good amount of water for our dog, doesn’t quite circulate the water as much as it could to keep it clear, noise level when full is very minor but as soon as it starts getting low it gets louder. Pretty easy to clean, which is good cause I find you need to clean it at least twice a weekCords a little short, because I have to go around my freezer to the closest plug it is really just making it. Works great, I have a sensitive dog who is affair of everything and was a little conserned he would use it. He does, so that's great.Rapport qualité prix excellent cependant le moteur est assez bruyant.
